Museum trip

Yesterday ( Tuesday 27 October) we had an awesome experience at the museum. We looked at some ancient items that were treasured at the museum. There was even a whare/ marae ( a house that you can live in) inside the museum.

 The person who owns the marae was wealthy but somehow they became poor and insects started to chew on the marae so they gave it to museum because they knew if they gave it to the museum it would be properly looked after.

Something I learnt was that Maori people used to give a house when someone gets married. A carver and his son built/ carved the house. They carved their an sisters to remember them and treasure them in their heart.

My favourite part of the museum was the volcano room. The ground shakes like an earthquake and the light turns off and on ,off and on. 3 people from my group screamed and 3 people including me did not scream because we had experienced it before.

Well-being

 Faakalofa lahi atu Bloggers!

This term we are learning about well-being (Inside out). I have created a piece of work that I would like to share with you. I did a kahoot so unfortunately I have to take screenshots of it.

My Holiday

 Hey Bloggers 

I want to share what I did in my holiday. This is my highlight from my holiday. Lot's of people that I know  have  their birthday's on October. One of the people is my baby cousin Ayesha. 

Here is my writing:

MY HOLIDAY!

On Sunday 4’th of October My little cousin( Ayesha) turned 1 years old! 

Later that day Me and my family went to her house. My cousins, my uncles and

my aunties were all there too. As soon as I stepped inside the house I saw pink

everywhere. There was pink fluffy cotton all around with toy unicorns on top, I saw a giant

unicorn pinata from the corner of my eye .On the table I saw a huge delightful delicious looking

chocolate cake that  was covered in rainbow frosting, I was tempted to poke my finger in it  but it was

her’s so I couldn’t although my mouth was watering for that chocolate cake.

The bright pink balloons flooded the whole place. There was a mini fluffy

pink unicorn chair for her to sit in. She looked so adorable the moment I saw her!

I brang my laptop and played Among us ( which is a cool and fun game) 

There are two teams which are the crewmates and the Imposters. The Imposters

try to kill the crewmates and if they get everyone out without getting

caught or getting voted out they win. The crew mates have to try to

avoid getting killed by the Imposter.  On the first round I was a crewmate. I was

doing my tasks when someone saw a dead body so they rang  the bell for an

emergency meeting.  I was voted that I was the imposter 3 times by

other people but thankfully I was not out. I managed to do all my tasks

and was walking around. I saw a dead body so I called a meeting. I voted

someone out and a lot of people copied me. We got the Imposter out.  I kept playing

until it was time to eat!

Surprisingly it was Lunch time we had Nandos and pizza

everyone dived into the food and…….. It was delicious.

I was holding the birthday girl and I fed her so I barely had

anything because I was feeding her and everyone started picking up the

food so I did not get up and get something because that would have been awkward. 

I hiddenly went to the cake and took a tiny piece from the bottom. I did not get any more,

you know why?

It was time to break the pinata and everyone got to have a 

turn trying to break it but they could not break then suddenly I smashed

it open and there was candy flying everywhere. I collected lot’s of it and I was

happy about how much candy I got although some of my other cousins got a lot more. 

I played a little more Among us and then me and my cousins who are also my bff’s

( Jowwariyah, Ruwaydah and Fatimah) chatted. It got late so we had a huge slice of cake.

I was so excited to dig into my piece of cake. We watched youtube then it was time to go home.

My cousin’s were trying to convince my mum if I could stay but I ended up

not staying but my sister stayed at my grandma’s house like 4 times in a row. I was

really unhappy about that but I did not show my emotions.

My Poetry Slam( Holiday blogging task 6)

 Good day bloggers,

Today I decided to do the Poetry Slam. The title of the poem is called Corona Virus. I wrote this poem down yesterday in the evening. Tomorrow is school!! I decided to take a video of myself reading the poem I also made a google drawing and wrote my poem on their so you can read it to yourself too.  I hope you guys like poem.

Learn how to use google drawing ( Holiday task 5)

 Hey bloggers,

Today I am finishing of the last activity from the holiday blogging challenge. I want to teach everyone who is new to using google drawing how to use it.  I hope I gave a clear explanation on how to use google drawing. I made a video.

A traditional Maori game ( Poi Rakau) (Holiday task 4)

I want to teach you guys a game called Poi Rakau. It is a really fun game! I learnt this game from a teacher who teaches in Waikowhai Intermediate and I played with some people from Lynfield Collage, Waikowhai Intermediate and some student from other Primary Schools. The More People In The Game The Better!       This is how you play:

Everybody in the game needs a stick that is about 1 metre or slightly longer. You have to hold it in front of you and then somebody has to call out Maui which mean left or Matau which means right. You leave the stick where it is and try to move quickly to the next stick before it falls. At Lynfield Collage they added some more thing to make it more fun.

They can also say Pakipaki which means clap you have let go of your stick and clap one time and try to catch the stick before it falls .  Another thing the person can yell out is Mowhiwhiti which means jump but this time you jump with your stick. I hope you enjoy playing this with your family and friends.

My programming Video ( Holiday Task 3 )

 Hello Everybody,

I hope you guys are having a good holiday. As one of the activities  I made a video about programming. I used different arrows to move the character. I tried to avoid touching the other Items. Facts about a Kereru bird (Holiday task 2)

 Ki Orana Bloggers from around the World,

I want to teach you about a bird or should i say pigeon that is endemic to NZ. This pigeon is a wood pigeon and is called Kereru. It is one of the largest birds in the world. I will stop myself there because I have made a DLO ( Digital Learning Object ) about this specie that I would like to share with you.  I hope you learn something new and pass on the message so that this bird can become more common and not extinct.

How to stay safe online (Holiday task 1)

Today I decided this is the day I should start the Holiday blogging challenge.  I made a pick a path about Interland ( it is about being internet awesome) .
