Good morning lovely bloggers

I have been having a good day yesterday playing rugby outside with my brother and my next door neighbor.  Also yesterday my neighbors gave us some awesome gifts.  Anyways I am in a bit of hurry today and I thought since I still have a few minutes before we head out shopping I will complete the next task.  For this task we had to watch a video and answer a few questions about the WWF and the animal they are trying to protect. WWF stands for World Wildlife Fund. The WWF are an organisation all over the world who are trying to protect sea and wildlife.  The WWF are great people with hearts of gold to take on such a huge task of saving and protecting  sea and wildlife.  Its not an easy task so theses wonderful people have taken on and they need to be praised for their hard work.  I am answering my question based on the first video I watched.

Questions:

1) The name of the animal the WWF is working to save?
The animal that the WWF is trying to save is the Saimaa ringed seals. So far there are 360 Saimaa ringed seals left.

2)What the WWF is doing to help the animal?
The WWF is trying to  build snow banks so that the seal can give birth in a lair that digs into a snow bank and they can be protected from predators, the cold weather and human disturbing them. This helps to grow the numbers of Saimaa ringed seals so that more can survive and we will have a more of these seals around.

3) What,if any, success they have had protecting the animal?
I believe they have been some what successful because they have 360 Saimaa ringed seals still alive and that would be with the help of the WWF building the snow banks for them to grow the numbers of these particular seals to survive. They are still in need of a long term plan against climate change in order to be fully successful.

I have to go now because my mum and dad are waiting for me to go shopping. I hope you all  have an awesome day.

Hey beautiful bloggers

Today has been a beautiful sunny day.  Finally the weather has become better so we can play outside rather than being stuck inside the house.  For today task we have to write 3 pros ( good things) and 3 cons (bad things) about being a DOC ranger. DOC stands for Department Of Conservation. A DOC ranger lives in either Great Barrier Island or Little Barrier Island and their job is to take care of lizards and other wildlife animals and plants so we can continue to have them around us for along time.

Being a DOC ranger: The pro (good thing):

1) You get to explore the Island and and enjoy fresh air while doing your job.

2) You get to help save animals and plants from becoming extinct and feel proud of yourself for being part of a team who is able to do that.

3) you get to educate other from the experience you gain first hand while being in the wild.

Being a DOC ranger: The con (bad things)

1) There can be creepy crawlies and other creature that you might come face to face with especially when are not expecting them.

2) You have to continue doing your job regardless if its muddy, windy, wet or sunny, so you have to able to adapt to all conditions.

3) If you were not able to save the wildlife animal or plant you will feel guilty especially if it was your fault.

I personally dont want to be a DOC ranger because I dont think I could handle wildlife animals and I love sleeping in my very own comfortable bed without having to worry about creepy crawlies ect.  I have to call out to my little brother every time I see a spider ,so I definitely dont think that becoming a  DOC ranger would suit me.

I hope everyone is having a great holiday.

bye for now

Hey lovely blogger,

Is it just me or has this year's month of December we have been getting a lot of rain.  There is good things about when it rains and not so good thing as well. I love it when it rains because I get hot really really fast and I guess the rain cools the weather, it also helps the plants get their water as well so they dont dye out but the thing I dont like about it, is that we can't go outside to play so we have to stay inside.  Lucky for us we have summer learning journey to keep us occupied.
For this task we have to describe our beast.

Are you ready for my description of my beast.  Well buckle your seat belts  because you are coming on a ride with me. My beast is a rainbow unicorn but not your ordinary unicorn.

During day light it is the most beautiful unicorn you will ever see.It has shimmering eyes like the moon at night but the colour is different ,it is magenta and turquoise. The black eyeliner outlines it almond shape eyes with eyelashes are perfectly curled. It has little blunt white teeth that couldn't hurt a fly and and she has beautiful cherry red lip. The body is perfect shape body and white like snow and soft like clouds which needs no change and the hair on its head is every colour you can think of in the rainbow plus the extra glitter shimmer reflect off the pond  water and make its like you are in disco with every step she takes.

Everything changes when it hits darkness and the most beautiful unicorn transfer into your worst nightmare.  Her eyes become big like  basketball hoop and its rugby ball  eyeballs jump out like it can bite you with its stare. The horn is beautiful golden colour like the sun shining in the sky. The blunt teeth turn into sharp yellow and black stained vampire looking teeth with blood dripping off and pieces of meat stuck between it teeth from its last meal. The rainbow colored hair changes into watery bloody red colour. Its body colour is a dirty white and grey combined. when it takes a step it sounds just like when heavy rain and thunder is coming your way.  The body is rough and feels disgusting to touch like a frog gooey slime.  The horn is becomes sharp and rusty grey like old metal left in water.

I use my imagination to  describe my beast.
Bye the way I hope you enjoyed

Hi wonderful Bloggers

Today's task activity 3 is all about the plant cactus.  We had some cactus plants in our garden but we removed them because they were too prickly.  I hate being pricked by them.  I just found out today that cactus only need 3 mls of water per day that is an amazing fact that I didn't know about.  They have thick parts where they store their water.  Even my baby sister drink more water than a cactus.

I am going to explain how much water a cactus uses in one year.  This shouldn't be that hard because we know that one year has 365 days.

Days in one year = 365
Water cactus has per day =3mls

so we going to use multiplication to figure this out

365 x 3=1095

Answer: 1095 mls per year

Hey Blogger

Today I am going to share with you all about New Zealand sport team who uses the fern in their name for their team.  The fern is a plant which has no flowers but has divided leaves. The fern grows in shady and damp places.  We have three sport teams that have fern in their name.  Silver Fern is the New Zealand national netball team, Black fern is New Zealand's woman national rugby union team and White Fern is the woman's national cricket team.

Silver Fern

Black Fern

White Fern

My favorite uniform is the Black Fern because I love rugby and I love the colour white and black together.  I like watching rugby on TV and love playing rugby at home with my brother and cousins.

Hey Bloggers,

Today is another unknown day here in Auckland when it comes to the weather. I planned to go outside and have a play out in the sun and all of a sudden it started pouring with rain.  The weather is so unpredictable here we get four seasons in one day. That gives me a great reason to come online and continue my summer learning journey here with you guys. For this task we have to explain why I want to visit or why we don't want to visit Tane Mahuta the grandest , oldest most sacred Kauri trees in New Zealand.

I would love the opportunity to visit one of New Zealand most oldest Tree the Tane Mahuta.  As I have lived all my life here in New Zealand I would like to be able to say to everyone that I have seen the most sacred, oldest tree in New Zealand. I love nature and also love walking so this will give me the opportunity explore nature at its best while away from the busy city life.  There it will be all silence other than the sound of birds singing and the wind brushing against my skin.  Such a magical and peaceful feeling.  I would take photo there so I could have it with me for memory and show to my family overseas who are unable to experience it for themselves.

Hope you are enjoying your holiday and hope we can see the Tane Mahuta together.

Bye for now.

Hey bloggers nice to see you again,

This is my second blog post. If you haven't checked out my first blog post please go and  check it out. For this blog post I am going to tell you all about my beautiful hometown which is Auckland.

Auckland is the most beautiful city in my opinion.  I love it, that it has so many parks where you can play for hours and yet it feels like you've been there only for minutes because of all the enjoyable playing activities like slides, swings, flying fox etc. My favorite  park is One Tree Hill which is super green with woolly sheep which is also a tourrest attraction.  I also love the city because of all the tall mirror like buildings and the tallest building which is the Sky tower.  It has so many malls if you like shopping and many refreshing beaches if you like to swim or just relax in the sun. There is everything you can use to feel at home.It is a free city.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post
byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee see you on task 3
hey bloggers,

Today I am super excited because it is the first day of the summer learning journey. For this activity we have to go on to a website called tourism NZ. We have to find three fun facts about Aotearoa. This is what I thought was fun but before I start I would like to tell you something, we have a Akohiko cluster. There are seven primary schools including my school. One person from the whole cluster will win a drone, I hope that person is me. There are sixty activity's and we have to do the activities to win the drone, you can also comment on other peoples blogs for each comment you can earn 2 points.  Now I am going to tell you three fact about our beautiful country New Zealand.

1. New Zealand's Native bird is called a kiwi. It was named by the Maori people. A kiwi bird is flightless meaning it doesn't fly.  I would like to see a kiwi bird one day.

2.The tallest building in New Zealand is called the Sky Tower. It is 328 meters (1,076 ft) high. You can see all of Auckland from the top of the Sky Tower.

3.In order to become a New Zealand citizen you must take an oath of loyalty to queen Elizabeth.  My mum became New Zealand citizen in 1994 and they had to go to Queen street hall to take an oath of loyalty to the queen where they were presented a certificate of citizenship.

I hope you Enjoyed reading my blog hope you have an awesome day.
