Facts about a Kereru bird (Holiday task 2)

Ki Orana Bloggers from around the World,

I want to teach you about a bird or should i say pigeon that is endemic to NZ. This pigeon is a wood pigeon and is called Kereru. It is one of the largest birds in the world. I will stop myself there because I have made a DLO ( Digital Learning Object ) about this specie that I would like to share with you.  I hope you learn something new and pass on the message so that this bird can become more common and not extinct.

Here is my presentation:

Hope you learnt something new.
Is there any facts that i have not listed.
Plz comment and give me some Feedback.
Have a nice rest of your holiday.

  1. Ka pai Marwah. I didn't know kererū could live to 21 years old! Awesome poster. I like the way your images match your facts e.g. one with red eyes and one flying. Just be careful with there and their. Have you commented on some other blogs for the holiday blogging programme?

  2. Hi Marwah, great effort completing your second holiday blogging task! You have a lot of facts here and I like that you explained the word "endemic". I'm wondering if there are certain types of berries that kererū like to eat? What trees do they nest in? Perhaps we could see if we have any of these trees at school to help attract them into the Roskill area.
