week 1, activity 2, day 1 -Summer learning journey

Stirimishi amazing bloggers around the world,

Today I am going to be doing another activity from the summer learning journey!!!

Aotearoa (New Zealand) is a awesome country. It is a safe country and I am very lucky to be here. Have you ever thought who was the first person to discover New Zealand? Many people think that Kupe was the fist one to discover Aotearoa many years later when a explorer called Abel Tasman was exploring the pacific island and came across Aotearoa he thought that he was the first one to discover New Zealand. In 1642 he spread the word that he had discovered a new land. Kupe and Abel Tasman both are from different cultures but have the same interest of exploring the world.

My home country is Afghanistan and it is full  of natural beauty. I was born in New Zealand My mum was born in Afghanistan and came 28 years ago My dad was also born in Afghanistan and came 12 years ago. My brother and my two younger sisters were born in New Zealand. Our traditional clothing is very bright and colorful.
Afghan people can speak either Farsi or Pashto. My family speaks Pashto but my dad can speak both. Some can also speak English like me. I do not know lots of things about Afghanistan because I have only gone for a holiday, there for 3 months in 2017. Afghanistan is located in Asia.
We also have this traditional rice that is called Kabili rice which is popular. Our flag is black Red and Green it also has some white on the flag. Our traditional dance is called the Attan and it is preformed at special Afghan events.

  1. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year Marwah,

I hope you have been enjoying your summer break and have been getting a lot of sun and rest! I am so excited to be back to work to be reading your blog posts!

Tino Pai, on an awesome blog post today about your culture. Thank you for sharing about your family, where you come from and things/ traditions that are important to you and your family. I like that you have also included at the beginning of your blog post, some information about New Zealand, it will encourage many of your viewers to research more about New Zealand as well!

I really enjoyed reading about your home country Afghanistan, while learning more about you and your family. I think it is so cool that both your parents were born in Afghanistan and that they took you and your siblings home for a holiday.

Another thing I really enjoyed reading about was the traditional clothing and food you talked about in your post. I also like that you talked about the meaning of the flag and other things that are special to your culture.

When you went for your holiday to Afghanistan, what was your favourite thing about the trip?

I look forward to reading more of your blog posts.
    Kueni :)
