Central Interceptor

Hey bloggers,

It was the last week of school YAY!!!! we have been learning about the central interceptor. It is going to be done by 2025, IT IS SUPER EXCITING! If you are wondering what the Central Interceptor is, It is a tunnel that will purify the whole of Auckland´s water ( that is what I heard). We had some people that came in from Water Care and  told us about the Central Interceptor. We were lucky that we seniors at Hay Park School got to choose the name of the giant tunnel ( We had some options out of the Matariki stars) we have not heard what name is yet but we will find out soon these are some fact about it. The Matariki star that I  chose was Waiti.
Thank you for reading my blog post

  1. Kia ora Marwah,

What a lot of great facts about the CI that you have picked up from the WaterCare presentation. I think you may have got a little confused about what the new underground pipe will do - it will take the wastewater safely to the Māngere Wastewater Treatment Plant. Have you seen the construction site in Keith Hay Park yet? I went for a walk the other day and there was a lot happening!

    1. Salam Mrs Eagleson,

I have seen the construction work at Keith hay park. Thank you for telling me what the tunnel actually does. I heard that It would pure the waters so I decided to write it down. What star did you vote for I voted for Waiti. I wonder what month in 2025 it is going to be finished. They named it urururangi. When they were digging they found a shell from 100 or 1000 years ago that's crazy.

      Have a wonderful day.
